Nitto National Championship Location Change

This email is going out to all ULTRA4 sponsors, drivers and co-drivers. As some of you have heard, we announced at this weekend’s GenRight ULTRA4s at Superlift race that the Nitto Tire National Championship will not be happening in Las Vegas in 2014. We are working on a suitable alternate location worthy of the Championship for the same October 17th and 18th dates.
While it was not an easy decision, we would rather give six months’ notice of a location change than risk the possibility of a last minute cancellation. We were assured after 2013’s cancellation that obtaining permits this year would not be a problem. However, it has recently come to our attention that there is still some uncertainty with using the new property. While there is still a possibility we could make the race happen, we are not willing to risk being forced to cancel the race at a later date.
Our top alternate locations are Ridgecrest, CA or Reno, NV. Ridgecrest has similar terrain to King of The Hammers and is on BLM land. It is just a couple hours further than Vegas for those traveling from the east. The BLM manager for the region is excited to work with us and familiar with our events. Reno, NV is an area we have raced in before and have received many requests from drivers to return. It offers the casino/hotel atmosphere of Vegas along with the challenging terrain necessary for an ULTRA4 endurance race.
We are vetting both locations and should have a decision very soon. Thank you for your continued support of ULTRA4 Racing. Should you have any questions, concerns or feedback on the alternate locations, send them our way.
Sincerely,
Dave Cole and rest of the ULTRA4 Team
