Gilbert, AZ-This past weekend, Shannon and Nick Campbell of Campbell Racing raced in the last race of the 2010 season of Best in the Desert. Time Trials were on Thursday and after a pretty hard roll on their practice lap the guys were able to get the car going and still qualified in 8th position. Saturday’s race started at 12:45. When the light turned green Shannon and Nick shot off the line and never looked back. At about mile 50 the guys had to get out and change a rear flat but were able to get back on track. Coming around on their 2nd lap they stopped at pit2 to fuel, put on the light bar and replace the old tire. If all went well the #1554 wouldn’t need to stop until the finishline. On the last lap Nick called out mile 60 and we headed to the finish. It wasn’t long before we could hear the distinct sound of the LS6 coming through the mountains. Casey Folks was there with a thumbs up as Campbell Racing crossed the line.
The #1554 Campbell Racing Truggy placed 4th in class and 9th overall.
What an exciting season it has been. We would like to THANK all of our sponsors for all the time they spent working out the bugs on the new car. If it wasn’t for their support and superior products we wouldn’t be able to do any of this. Thank You to our family and friends for all the hard work and sacrifices that it takes to make a great race team.
